Premier is seeking a Project Specialist who will support the planning, coordination, and administration of telecommunications projects in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong organizational skills who is eager to gain experience in government contracting and project support. The Project Specialist will assist project managers and program leadership with scheduling, documentation, reporting, and customer coordination to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide administrative and project coordination support for government telecommunications projects.
· Assist in maintaining project schedules, task trackers, and documentation using Microsoft Project, SmartsheetGov, and Excel.
· Support the preparation of customer deliverables, reports, and presentations (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
· Track and organize orders, inventory, and billing activities to ensure accurate records.
· Coordinate with internal teams (Contracts, Finance, Operations, and Customer Support) and vendors to gather required information for proposals, task orders, and contract modifications.
· Help prepare materials for Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and customer meetings.
· Monitor project action items, escalate risks or issues to senior project managers, and follow up on outstanding tasks.
· Maintain databases, files, and correspondence related to government projects.
· Assist in ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
· Provide customer care support by responding to inquiries and routing requests to the appropriate internal teams.
Required Qualifications:
· 2-3 years of professional experience in project coordination, administration, or a related field (internships or entry-level roles acceptable).
· Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
· Prior exposure to government contracting, telecommunications, or IT projects
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Microsoft Project or SmartsheetGov a plus.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
· Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Ability and willingness to obtain a PMP certification within 12 months of hire date.
